  With Dr. Gaikhuanlung Ngaomei, Asst. Professor, Pettigrew College, Ukhrul. Tamenglong College, the lone degree-giving institute in the Tamenglong district, was established back in 1979. However, it started functioning as a full-fledged college only in 1985/86, got affiliation to Manipur University (M U) in 1992, and finally became a government college in 1995. Though it is situated in the remotest district of Manipur, it has been offering BA degree courses in different disciplines including  Economics, Education, English, History, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics , etc. along with some vocational courses. Recently MU gave the permission to start B.Sc. courses in  Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, Computer Science , etc. from the coming academic session 2021-22. About a couple of weeks ago, I came across two online journals,  Mukt Shabd Journal and Tathapi,  which I suspected to be cloned/fake. When I cross-check the journals with that in the UGC-CARE List, I feel convinced that both would be fake/scam primarily because in  less than four months, i.e. March-June,   Mukt Shubd Journal published 2538 papers; and Tathapi published about 1163 papers during the month of June alone. Let me share my tiny experience with this  cloned/fake journal named  Mukt Shabd Journal . Since I was convinced that the journal could be fraud, I was sharing this for research scholars for awareness. 1. HSE 2007: During my higher secondary days in Imphal (2005-07 ), I was in such a situation that I could neither afford to go to school daily nor buy enough reading materials. My aim was just to complete my Class-XII. Since I was not regular in the class, and was not able to owned required text-books, it was a difficult task to prepare for the HSE Exam. With the little materials in hand, I thought I should give my best whatever it takes. A couple of months before the exam, I decided that I should try to get 70 percent. Seeing my seriousness on the eve of exam, a neighbour, who was teaching in another higher secondary school in Imphal, bring me additional sheets from the school and gave it to me. She told me to used for writing practice because she knew that reading alone is not enough. Using those papers given to me by that lecturer, I was able to passed my HSE (Arts) with 71 percent.
